50 Cent has acquired 985,000 square feet of studio space for what will be the future G-Unit Studios.
The rapper shared a short Instagram video of it free space that he hopes to transform. “Well, take a look at this,” the rapper begins as he pans his camera through the cavernous, empty space. “Can you say GGGGG-Unit Studios?” he asks, simulating an echo in the massive building. “GLG. GreenLightGang G-Unit Film & TV. Boom. I need space to work. I don’t miss it (TV) will never be the same.”
50 Cent moved to Texas in 2021 and it’s unclear if the property is there or in another state. Several of the rapper’s peers congratulated him on the acquisition, with DaBaby giving him a thumbs-up emoji and replying, “Still learning.” 50 Cent is focused on his future television and film projects after splitting from Starz earlier this year.
The producer signed a non-exclusive multi-year broadcast deal with Fox. In this role, he will develop scripted drama, comedy and animated series for the Fox network. 50 Cent left Starz in September 2022, who co-produced his Performance Franchise.
“Whether it’s music, film or television, Curtis consistently delivers world-class entertainment that captivates millions of fans around the world,” added Michael Thorn, President of Scripted Programming at Fox Entertainment, in announcing the deal. “He is a rare multi-talent with a keen sense of storytelling, regardless of format or medium, and we look forward to working with him and his team to develop new and exciting series for Fox.”
“I’m delighted to formalize a partnership with Michael Thorn and FOX, which will allow G-Unit Film & Television to focus on airing multiple series on Fox, a perfect destination for (our) content, while delivering premium, Offering streaming, scripted and non-content.” “-Scripted Slates continues to grow in all directions,” 50 Cent added of his deal with Fox.
