Cartier named BTS singer Kim “V” Tae-hyung as their new brand ambassador. Here’s the latest.
V will be featured in a campaign for Cartier’s Panthère de Cartier collection as part of the new deal. It is a range of jewellery, watches and accessories inspired by the grace of panthers. According to Cartier, V’s “magnetic gaze” was the perfect addition to its cat collection.
“V follows its trajectory with the same determination as a panther.” adds Arnaud Carrez, Cartier senior vice president and chief marketing. “As a free spirit, both author and composer, he has captivated an entire generation as a soloist and member of the group BTS.”
Cartier isn’t the first luxury brand V has partnered with either. In March 2023, after appearing at the Paris fashion show, he accepted the position of brand ambassador for Heidi Slimane’s CELINE.
Of course, V isn’t the only member of BTS to take part in promoting luxury goods either. RM signed Bottega Veneta as a brand ambassador, while SUGA joined Valentino, Jungkook signed with Calvin Klein and Jimin partnered with Tiffany & Co. for a new campaign. J-Hope was officially named Louis Vuitton’s brand ambassador last year, with the fashion house praising his “creative musical direction, choreography and happy energy”. BTS collectively became Louis Vuitton’s brand ambassadors in 2021 and the collection is available now.
According to local reports, BTS fans crashed the Cartier website when the collection was announced in South Korea. The remaining stock The $26,700 Cartier necklace sold out within minutes of the announcement, so thanks to the collaboration, there’s a lot of excitement about this collection. V also graced the cover of Elle Korea in April 2023, cementing his status as a fashion icon. Kim Tae-hyung joins BLACKPINK’s Lusa and South Korean actor Park Bo-gum as brand ambassadors for CELINE.
