Harry Styles is the latest artist to be thrown at on stage and hit in the eye at a Vienna concert.
I’m not sure what exactly makes people spend hundreds of dollars throwing things at their “favorite” artist, but here we are. This time Harry Styles was hit in the eye during his performance on stage in Vienna. He avoided serious injury and was able to complete his show as planned – but this is the second time in less than a year he has dealt with someone throwing an object onto the stage.
In November 2022, Styles was hit by a fan who threw a Skittles tune on stage. But he’s not the only artist to have experienced such attacks while performing, especially in 2023. Bebe Rexha required stitches after being hit in the face by a phone. Ava Max was slapped in the face by a fan who rushed onto the stage to hug her before being attacked by security personnel.
After that onslaught of items and dashing onto the stage, Adele challenged any of her fans to do it. “Have you noticed how people are forgetting friggin’ show etiquette right now?” the pop singer asked her audience during her stay in Las Vegas last month. “People who just throw shit on stage, have you seen them? I fucking dare. You dare throw anything at me and I’ll fucking kill you,” she said.
Video footage posted on social media appears to show the singer taking the stage when an object hits him squarely in the eye. He winces in pain and leans forward, putting his hands to his head to collect himself before continuing. Harry Styles did not directly address the incident on social media. If you love the artist so much that you pay hundreds to see them live, maybe you don’t throw anything away? Just a thought.
