Insomniac is using Tulum’s Zamna Festival to curate its Interstellar Expansion in Southern California.
Insomniac has announced that Tulum’s acclaimed Zamna Festival will be held in Southern California for the first time, and will be presenting the music curation behind one of the Interstellar Experience’s two stages. Music enthusiasts and festival-goers can enjoy an unforgettable experience as Insomniac brings Zamna’s unique blend of culture and music to only its third American location.
Interstellar, originally created as a collaboration between Insomniac’s trance-focused Dreamstate and techno-focused Factory 93 brand, debuts Saturday, August 19th and Sunday, August 20th at the LA Waterfront at Berth 46 in San Pedro, California.
The interstellar festival experience promises harmonic vibrations and melodies and becomes the soundtrack of a journey through unknown parts. The list of artists announced for Interstellar includes Lane 8, Yotto, WhoMadeWho, Sasha & John Digweed, Mathame, Bob Moses, Mind Against and more, with the Zamna team directing.
Since Zamna Festival’s inception in 2017, its annual gathering in Tulum has become a must for music lovers around the world, celebrating together the best of dance music in the Mexican paradise. Set against a backdrop of ancient Mayan ruins on the Yucatán Peninsula, Zamna Festival has integrated local Mayan culture and traditions into the immersive jungle experience.
Building on the undeniable success of previous Zamna editions in cities like Barcelona, Madrid, Miami, New York, São Paul and Tel Aviv, Zamna’s first Southern California performance at the Interstellar Festival promises to be an “oasis of fascination” with world-class musical performances, bespoke lighting, cutting-edge sound design and immersive visual installations.
