Jimin’s solo album debut continues to help the kpop singer reach new heights with a new Spotify album.
The BTS member released his solo album Face on March 24, 2023 to great success. The album contains six dance-heavy songs and his BTS bandmate RM is the songwriter for at least three songs. Jimin says the album is about “confronting himself head-on as he prepares for his next step as a solo artist,” according to the album’s February announcement.
As of May 4th, Jimin has been in the Spotify Global Daily Top Artists list for 50 days and counting. This record extends his record as the longest-charting Korean solo artist. His pre-track “Set Me Free Pt. 2” surpassed 100 million streams on May 3, also helping Jimin break the Global Daily Top Artists record. On May 4th, “Like Crazy (English Version)” also surpassed the 100 million streaming mark, accomplishing the feat in just 41 days. It is the fastest B-side song by a Korean soloist to equal the record.
Each of these three songs has more than 100 million streams, making Jimin the only Korean solo artist whose three songs from the same album have more than 100 million streams. “Face” is also the only album by a Korean soloist to have surpassed 100 million streams on Spotify in just a few minutes 41 days since publication.
Kpop fans loved Jimin’s solo album and gave him five songs in his solo profile, which made him hit 100 million streams on Spotify. With six songs hitting the goal of over 100 million streams, he now ranks second only to Agust D/SUGA. Jimin fans have launched campaigns on social media to push him to the top of this final list as they recommend Stream Face “top down” to help the star break that record as well.
