Jimmy Buffett was forced to cancel his Saturday concert in Charleston, South Carolina Thursday morning after suffering unknown health conditions – “Getting older isn’t for wimps.”
Jimmy Buffett wrote on his Facebook page on Thursday that his scheduled performance on Saturday, May 20 with the Coral Reefer Band will be postponed and that all tickets will be valid once a new date is announced. The 76-year-old “Margaritaville” singer was hospitalized due to unknown medical problems.
“Challenges make life interesting” wrote Buffett quotes Mark Twain. “But only overcoming these problems makes life meaningful.”
“I had a sudden change of plan this week that affected us all. “Two days ago I just got back from a trip to the Bahamas,” he explained. “After the ‘Winter Tour’ of California, we’re thawing and dying to get to Charleston. I had to stop in Boston for an exam but ended up back in the hospital to sort out some issues that needed immediate attention.”
“Aging isn’t for sissies, I promise you,” Buffett continued in a way only he can, before thanking fans for their support. “I also promise you that if I’m well enough to perform, I’ll do that in the land of crab soup.” You all make my life more meaningful and fulfilling than I could ever have imagined as a two-headed little boy on the edge of the Gulf of Mexico.”
Unfortunately, this is the second time Buffett has faced hospitalization in less than a year. In September, he was also forced to cancel some tour dates due to unknown health issues that landed him in the hospital. Thankfully, the singer was able to return to the stage in February.
Jimmy Buffett’s last album was in 2020 Songs you can’t memorize. He is one of the richest musicians in the world Net worth as of 2023 of $1 billion.
