Miley Cyrus’ endless summer vacation continues as the 30-year-old pop star packages her upcoming single release with an ABC biographical special.

On Thursday, Miley Cyrus revealed on Instagram that her latest single, “Used to Be Young,” will be released on August 25. The news drops alongside the reveal that Miley is dropping a “Backyard Sessions” performance of her recent album, “Endless Summer Vacation,” which debuted in March. “Endless Summer Vacation: Continued (Backyard Sessions)” will air on ABC on August 24 at 10 PM ET.

“In celebration of my new single release, Endless Summer Vacation (backyard sessions) continues,” shares Cyrus. “This time with a retrospective interview sharing stories about the first 30 years of my life in honor of U2BY (“Used to Be Young”). This song is dedicated to my loyal fans. I love YOU for loving every version of ME. Always.”

The announcement also features a video teaser with a shot of Miley walking toward the camera wearing a shirt beneath her leotard that features Mickey Mouse — a reference to her days as a Disney Channel star on Hannah Montana. Cyrus shows off her shoes and then sits down for the interview, saying, “I got nowhere else to be, b****.”

Cyrus has been teasing the new track with posters fans spotted around the world with posts on social media. She shared a video on Tuesday capturing the posters and a photo of herself, captioned, “I know I used to be crazy. I know I used to be fun. You say I used to be wild. I say I used to be young.”

The lyrics from the track first surfaced in June 2023 in Miley’s British Vogue cover story, in which she spoke about her past.

“I carried some guilt and shame around myself for years because of how much controversy and upset I really caused,” she said then. “Now that I’m an adult, I realize how harshly I was judged. I was harshly judged as a child by adults, and now, as an adult, I realize that I would never harshly judge a child.”

Nowadays, Cyrus says she’s “the healthiest and happiest she’s been in a long time.”
