Ozzy Osbourne is retiring from the Power Trip Festival in California this October. Here’s the latest.

The legendary metal rocker said he had to decide to retire due to health reasons. “As painful as it is, I had to make the decision not to appear on Power Trip again in October,” he begins opinion to his fans.

“My original plan was to return to the stage in the summer of 2024 and when the offer for this show came I looked forward with optimism.”

“Unfortunately, my body is telling me I’m just not ready yet, and I’m far too proud to be half-hearted about the first show I’ve done in almost five years,” Ozzy continues.

“The band that will replace me on Power Trip will be announced shortly. They are personal friends of mine and I can promise you will not be disappointed.”

The complete lineup for the Power trip 2023 The festival was announced in early March. Metallica, Iron Maiden, AC/DC, Tool and Guns N’ Roses are all scheduled to take the stage in October. Produced by Goldenvoice, the festival will take place October 6-8, 2023 in Indio, California at the Empire Polo Grounds. Ozzy Osbourne announced his retirement from touring in February, making another painful statement for the Rocket. “My team is currently developing ideas for where I can perform without having to travel from city to city and country to country,” Ozzy said at the time. Although he was excited about his upcoming performance, it looks like he will need more time to rest and recover.

As for speculation about who will replace him, my star guest would be Judas Priest, whom Ozzy thanks in this end-of-tour message. We’ll find out in a few days.
