Reggaeton rapper Pacho El Antifeka was murdered in Puerto Rico. According to local reports, the rapper was shot dead in a shopping mall in Bayamón, near San Juan.
Local police found the singer’s body in a car at the mall. Pacho El Antifeka’s real name was Neftalí Álvarez Núñez. Homicide detectives of the Puerto Rican Investigative Corps are investigating the murder. Agents arriving at the scene later found the rapper dead from multiple gunshot wounds identified as rapper Pacho El Antifeka.
Pacho El Antifeka was born in Puerto Rico in 1981 and is considered one of the pioneers of the reggaeton sound. He started his career as a teenager and met Daddy Yankee before he rose to fame and brought the genre to the attention of the world. Pacho started his career in 2013 as part of the duo Pacho & Cirilio, with whom he worked until 2015. In 2019, he released a single entitled “They Don’t Have a Rifle” with fellow musician Cano “El Barbaro”. In 2021 he released his first solo album titled All Star Game.
Daddy Yankee honored his fellow rapper with a touching statement on Instagram.
“I’m not the one to judge anyone’s personal life, but I can judge the treatment I’m getting,” begins Daddy Yankee. “Based on that judgment, I can choose my friends. You have always treated me with respect, appreciation, honesty, sincerity and loyalty. For me, these qualities are very valuable because they are not easy to find.”
Singer Farruko also shared a statement in honor of Pacho on his Instagram. “Rest in peace, my brother. We didn’t talk all the time but when we did we always talked about God, about trying to be a better person, about learning to be fair, you were always a leader and a brother.”
So far, no motive for the death has been announced. The musician had a criminal record for violating Puerto Rico’s gun laws. A few months ago, the FBI raided his home and conducted a search.
