Run-DMC is headlining a mega concert entitled Hip Hop 50 Live at Yankee Stadium celebrating the 50th anniversary of hip hop in the genre’s birthplace in the Bronx, New York.
Run DMC will be headliners a mega concert celebrating hip hop’s 50th anniversary with Hip Hop 50 Live at Yankee Stadium on Friday, August 11, featuring performances by Snoop Dogg, Lil Wayne, Ice Cube, Eve, Lil Kim, Trina, Remy Ma and Fat Joe, Ghostface Killah, Slick Rick, Lupe Fiasco and more.

Presale begins Thursday, June 8th at 10:00am EST and ends at 10:00pm. Prices start at $50. General pre-sale begins June 9th at 10:00am EST. Hip Hop 50 is co-produced by Mass Appeal, Live Nation and the New York Yankees. Adam Blackstone, CEO of BASSic Black Entertainment, and producer and keyboardist Omar Edwards will be the concert’s creative music co-directors.
Hip Hop 50 will also include a special Pillars of Hip-Hop set featuring DJ Kool Herc and his sister Cindy Campbell, as well as Grandmaster Caz, Kurtis Blow, Melle Mel, Roxanne Shanté, Scorpio and the Sugar Hill Gang. A “Legendary DJ” segment will feature Clark Kent, Marley Marl, Mannie Fresh and Battlecat.
The Grammy Awards saw hip hop’s 50th anniversary in February featuring a host of legendary artists including Missy Elliott, Big Boi, Run-DMC, Queen Latifah, Method Man, Public Enemy, Busta Rhymes and DJ Jazzy Jeff.
